BGU was established in 1969 to spearhead development of Israel’s southern region.

Today, BGU is an internationally recognized institution of higher learning that attracts outstanding faculty and researchers from around the world.

The University has grown beyond purely educational activities and actively promotes advanced scientific research, hi-tech industry, agriculture, healthcare, and social service programs in the region. BGU is home to more than 19,000 students and includes four faculties: Engineering Sciences, Health Sciences, Natural Sciences and Humanities & Social Sciences; and two schools: the School of Management and the Kreitman School of Advanced Graduate Studies. BGU is committed to serving as a bridge between academia and industry and actively works to be a bridge between Israel and the regional and world communities.

In this regard, BGU is rapidly developing an “EU Tradition” and has successfully participated and coordinated in a wide array of Framework Program research projects starting from the 4th program. The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at BGU has a unique combination of expertise in the areas of ICT, manufacturing, intelligent systems, and statistics. BGU brings to ComVantage its expertise in conducting conceptual and empirical research on the business value of ICT alongside its vast experience with manufacturing systems.
